Hey Girl, Don’t Let Them Rewrite Your Heart

Hey, girl,
It is so easy for the world to put you in a box,
To reduce your soul to a body,
Your worth to their opinions,
And your existence to whatever their eyes choose to see

They call it judgement, they call it truth,
Never knowing how much of a person they undo
For it takes only a moment to make someone feel small
But the heart that breaks in silence remembers it all

And perhaps they never noticed,
The little girl who grew quieter with time,
The laughter that faded between the lines,
The softness that once came so naturally,
Now questioning whether it was safe to be kind

You were once the girl who found flowers in stone,
Who made the lost feel seen, the lonely feel home
But somewhere between the wounds and the blame,
You began to fear becoming yourself again

Oh, my girl, I know you want to build walls,
To become untouchable, to stop feeling it all
But don’t let the hands that hurt you decide
That the garden within you must  die

Learn to close doors without turning to stone,
To protect your heart without making it cold
Not everyone deserves the tenderness you give,
But don’t punish your own soul for the way others live

For the cruelest thing isn’t that they broke your heart,
It’s that you might let them change the beautiful parts
The kindness, the warmth, the light in your eyes,
The girl who still saw stars in another’s sky

So, hey, girl, let them misunderstand your soul and make the comments
But don’t let their narrow worlds make your beautiful heart small
You can grow wiser without forgetting how to care,
And still be the girl who once found goodness everywhere

You have spent so long gathering pieces of others,
Please don’t abandon the little girl within
She was never the reason the world became cruel
And she doesn’t deserve to become cruel to survive it

  1. Bound by your words, yet words can’t define,
The depth of your thoughts, the light you shine.
To look beyond, yet search within,
Jr. Sharma, what a journey you’re wandering in.

Don’t let the world define what’s yours,
Don’t let their judgments close your doors.
Don’t let the world change what’s beyond,
Or dim the light of which you’re fond.

And when the world grows harsh and cold,
Remember, there’s a hand for you to hold.
I’ll stand beside you, through storms unknown,
To protect your dreams, yet let you own.

For I believe in the strength you carry within,
In every dream you chase, every battle you win.
I’ll be your shield when the storms appear,
But never the walls that confine you, my dear.

    Keep shining, Jr. Sharma! ❤️

  4. Some poems are meant to be read, while others are meant to stay with you. Yours is the latter, Vidhi. ❤️ There’s something incredibly powerful about reminding the world that kindness is not weakness and a gentle heart is not something that needs fixing. May you always have the courage to remain yourself, no matter how loudly the world asks you to change. 🌸

  5. The world has a strange way of teaching us to build walls around the very things that make us beautiful. Your words remind us that protecting our hearts should never mean losing their warmth. Beautifully expressed, Vidhi! ❤️ May life never take away the softness in your soul or the strength behind your thoughts. Keep writing, because words like yours deserve to be heard. ✨

  6. Vidhi, this truly makes me understand what a strong girl you are and I am so proud of who you are and becoming day by day! Keep writing such poems. This gave me courage to become more of me than what others expect me to be. Much love xx
